Opportunities and achievements

Renowned for innovation

Innovation is a cornerstone of DLA Piper’s strategy, enhancing our reputation and driving our success. At the 2024 Legal Innovation & Technology Awards, we were recognised three times for our pioneering AI initiatives, the DLA Design Thinking training programme, and the Aiscension platform’s excellence in litigation technology. Our dedication to leveraging data, technology, and innovative thinking ensures we deliver exceptional results for clients and create a dynamic environment for our people.

A sustainable future for all

At DLA Piper, sustainability and ESG are integral to our firm’s ethos. In the UK, we are committed to leading in these areas, both in our operations and the services we provide. Our people play a crucial role in helping clients transition to and thrive in a sustainable future. We’re proud to be named ESG Legal Advisor of the Year for Europe at the 2024 IJ Global ESG Awards, marking our third consecutive win. Join us and be part of a team dedicated to making a positive impact.

Advancing Early Careers

At DLA Piper, we were recognised at the targetjobs UK National Graduate Recruitment Awards 2024, winning both the Best Social Mobility Strategy and Sustainability in Early Talent Recruitment awards. Our Best Social Mobility Strategy award highlights our commitment to widening participation by actively targeting, attracting, and recruiting students from different socio-economic backgrounds into our early careers programmes. This is a cornerstone of our diversity, equality and inclusion approach, ensuring that a person’s background does not dictate their career opportunities or success.

Inclusion and positive social impact

At DLA Piper, we design our policies and processes to be inclusive in how we recruit, how we retain talent, and how we help our people progress their careers with us. In 2024, we officially reduced the chargeable hours expectations for fee earners returning to work after a period of absence, such as parental leave. Additionally, we expanded our parental transition coaching to support all parents across our UK firm, allowing them to access this coaching at a convenient time, either before or after their leave. We also adopted a more inclusive approach to UK bank holidays, recognising our workforce’s diversity. Our employees can now flex or exchange up to four UK bank holidays to take time off on dates that better suit their personal needs.
