From Summer Intern to Associate: Mihir’s journey

Mihir Joshi, Associate, Investment Management and Funds: As a career and as a firm, you do get the opportunities to learn every single day. And I think the firm really puts a lot of emphasis on that and you continuing to grow as a legal professional. 

The decision for me to join DLA Piper was actually fairly straightforward. I then did the Summer Internship. I was a Brand Manager for DLA Piper at university. I've done the training contract, and now, here I am set as an Associate. 

So I've been with the firm for five years, and I've seen the firm grow, and the values stay strong throughout that entire period of time. So for me, it was a fairly easy decision. 

From the minute I joined, it was very clear that this is a firm that is global, not only in the work that it does, but the attitude and the outlook that people have from across the firm. There's a real focus on being as international as possible. 

It very much felt like a natural progression. I think the two years I did training, I felt a lot of pride, finally, being able to put the training behind me. 

The weight of the signature, you do feel it, and I think it's something that I'm really proud of and want to continue to grow.
