Opportunities and achievements

Transforming ideas into impact

Our Brussels office serves as our firm’s EU Centre of Excellence. Clients benefit from our experience in managing complex legal, regulatory and policy matters with EU components.

Innovation and radical change are essential components of our strategy. Our success in these areas is recognised by various sources, e.g. through the FT Innovative Lawyers Europe Awards. We were named Most Innovative Law Firm, Simon Levine, the former Global Co-CEO, was named Most Innovative Leader, and we also won the award for Most Innovative Law Firm Transformation for our Law& brand.

Action on climate change

In 2021 we launched our eMission 2030 campaign, focused on ensuring our people are kept up to date with our actions to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions. Our target is to halve our emissions by 2030, compared to 2019/20 pre-pandemic levels.

As part of this commitment, we also established a network of eMission 2030 Champions. These champions provide local support for our environmental and climate change efforts, and inspire action in their local offices, including our office in Brussels and Antwerp working hub.

Making a difference together

Our lawyers work on pro bono projects to help ensure access to justice, promote the rule of law and provide legal services to those unable to afford a lawyer.

In Belgium, our lawyers support access to justice through legal advice, representation and education for non-profit organisations, charities, NGOs and vulnerable individuals in our local communities. In 2023, 80 Belgian lawyers provided over 5800 hours of pro bono legal services to individuals in need, NGOs and UN agencies.
