Opportunities and achievements
Where quality meets opportunity
Our clients in Slovakia include U. S. Steel Košice, the largest steelmaking company in Slovakia and the largest integrated steel producer in Central Europe. In 2021 we successfully represented the company in a high-profile case decided by the Constitutional Court of the Slovak Republic. The court rulings will have a significant impact on legal doctrine and case law, with implications for very large organisations operating in our country.
Supporting our communities
We participate annually in an event organised by the Pontis Foundation, which calls on companies to spend a day doing charitable work in Slovakia. The team of DLA Piper Bratislava participated in the biggest corporate volunteering event in Central Europe called “Our Town 2024” (Naše mesto 2024), which takes place simultaneously in several towns across Slovakia. Committed to engagement in a variety of volunteering activities to support our local communities and environment in our town, we have helped to clean and refresh a community garden in Bratislava, Rača.
Action against Climate Change
In 2021 we launched our eMission 2030 campaign, focused on ensuring our people are kept up-to-date with our actions to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions. Our target is to halve our emissions by 2030, compared to 2019/20 pre-pandemic levels.
As part of this commitment, we also established a network of eMission 2030 Champions. These champions provide local support for our environmental and climate change efforts, and inspire action in their local offices, including our office in Bratislava.
