An opportunity has become available for an experienced Human Resources Manager to join our Sydney team. 

Working as part of a collaborative and inclusive HR team, this role leads and manages the people agenda for specified national practice groups and teams, as well as having a location-based HR focus. A professional HR role of trusted advisor, who understands the business and its priorities and builds strong relationships which provide both support and challenge.

Operating in a national HR business partnering model, supported by an HR Advisor and with Centres of Excellence (COE) specialist roles, each HRM has a high degree of autonomy managing a combination of legal practice and business services support groups, as well as having responsibility for location- based HR needs, partnering with the Office Managing Partner (OMP) and other local stakeholders on engagement and other local HR support and initiatives. This role will also partner and collaborate with internal functions and business services.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Act as a single point of contact for the management team in the Practice Group(s) and is an active member of the leadership team (Group Heads and Location Heads), facilitating to bring the best people solutions for the business, partners, and employees.
  • Works in partnership with the national HR team, proactively oversees and supports the delivery of the HR calendar.
  • Actively identifies gaps, proposes, and implements changes necessary to address people risks, working with specialist areas and the HR Administration team.
  • Builds a strong relationship with Office Managing Partner, working with them to develop a local engagement plan and engage resources to support delivery from the wider HR team.
  • Supports the Office Managing Partner through the provision of local intelligence including a regional lens across people processes and ER case activity
  • Supports the Head of HR across all HR deliverables in accordance with the International HR Strategy and Plan, including strategic priorities and transactional outputs.
  • Mitigate and proactively anticipate HR issues and work collaboratively with service areas in order to deliver successful outcomes (including Risk, BD/Marketing, Property & Workplace, Finance and SDQ)
