The role

Role summary:

As the Early Careers Coordinator, you will be a key member of the DLA Piper International Early Careers team, which sits within the wider Talent Acquisition and HR function.

Our team is responsible for all recruitment and development of early careers new joiners to the firm. Each year we look after and support 250+ people through our international early careers programmes. This role provides support for a wide range of recruitment and development programme activity and helps to ensure our early talent has the best experience with DLA Piper. You will have the opportunity to work alongside a team of early careers recruitment and development specialists, who will support you to learn and develop throughout your placement.

You will learn about how an international law firm operates and the early careers routes into the legal profession. You will learn about all cyclical activity across the apprentice and graduate recruitment and development lifecycle. You will be trained to enable you to perform successfully in your role.

Key areas of responsibility:

Early Careers Recruitment

  • Campus season: administrative organisation of events (booking careers fairs, publishing of job opportunities on university careers sites, creation of name badges, catering, delivery of materials); attending events with the business and early careers recruitment team; attraction planning and social media support
  • Apprentice and graduate assessment centres: organisation of events, running events with early careers recruitment team and candidate support and query management, processing of candidate expenses
  • General administration: processing invoices, budget tracking, room/video conference bookings for all early careers recruitment and development activity, management of team inbox and responding to candidate queries, booking travel and accommodation for programmes/events, printing and production of materials for all events
  • Event management: creation of registration lists, name badges and tent cards for all events
  • Insight and internship programmes: planning and organising of all logistical components relating to the Insight and Internship programmes

Early Careers Development

  • Performance management: administrative support on the apprentice and graduate performance management review process, chasing incomplete performance review forms
  • Rotations and permanent placement process: logistical management of apprentice and graduate rotations and supporting the Early Careers Development team in the execution of the annual qualification process and all associated activity
  • Induction and continued learning: planning and organising of all logistical components relating to the apprentice and graduate training programmes
  • Regulatory processes: support team members on the cyclical, regulatory processes

The successful candidate will be in their penultimate year of an undergraduate degree, eligible to work full-time in the UK for the duration of the placement, and be able to demonstrate the following strengths:
