We are looking for an IT Support Technician (Level 1) to join our Auckland office and become the first point of contact for IT support across DLA Piper New Zealand. This role is central to delivering high‑quality, responsive, and professional technical support to partners and both legal and business services teams.

You’ll provide frontline troubleshooting, log and resolve ServiceNow tickets, support end‑user devices and Microsoft 365 applications, and ensure all issues are accurately documented or escalate

d with clear evidence. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys helping people, communicates clearly, and thrives in a structured, process‑driven environment.

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Provide Level 1 IT support, logging, prioritising, and resolving incidents and requests through ServiceNow
  • Deliver professional, friendly assistance to partners, lawyers, and business services teams
  • Troubleshoot laptops, mobile devices, peripherals, and Microsoft 365 applications including Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel
  • Support meeting room and office technology, escalating persistent issues to Level 2
  • Complete joiner, mover, and leaver tasks in line with documented procedures
  • Escalate issues beyond Level 1 scope with clear troubleshooting steps and evidence
  • Maintain high‑quality ticket notes, documentation, and knowledge articles
  • Identify recurring issues and contribute to continuous improvement

About you

We are looking for someone who brings the following experience and strengths:

  • Experience in a service desk or frontline IT support role
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft 365 and Windows endpoints
  • Familiarity with ticketing systems and IT support workflows
  • Confidence supporting users in a professional services environment

The below is desirable, though not essential:

  • Exposure to ITIL or structured IT service management
  • Experience in environments with strong security and audit expectations
  • Familiarity with legal or professional services technology
  • Entry-level IT study or certifications (completed or in progress)
