Apply now

Our Energy and Real Estate teams in Helsinki are looking for two new colleagues to join our growing practices. In these roles, you will advise Finnish and international clients on a broad range of energy, infrastructure, real estate development and transactional matters in a rapidly evolving business environment.

We are looking for proactive, commercially minded lawyers with an interest in clean transition, energy and infrastructure projects, data centers and complex real estate development. The roles are best suited for lawyers with approximately 4 to 6 years of relevant experience who are ready to take ownership of matters, work independently and contribute to the continued development of our practice.

About you

We are looking for lawyers with a strong legal foundation, a practical and solution-oriented mindset, and a genuine interest in the energy and infrastructure sectors. The ideal candidates have experience in transactions, real estate development, infrastructure projects, energy projects or other project-related legal work.

You may already be managing complex legal matters independently, or you may be ready to take the next step into a more senior role where you take responsibility for workstreams, client communication and matter management.

We particularly value:

  • Approximately 4 to 6 years of relevant legal experience.
  • Experience in transactions, real estate development, infrastructure projects, energy projects or other project-related legal work.
  • Interest in clean transition, renewable energy, infrastructure, data centers and the wider transformation of the energy and real estate sectors.
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of your own workstreams.
  • A proactive, energetic and hands-on attitude.
  • Strong client service mindset and the ability to understand clients’ business needs.
  • Interest in, and experience with, construction law, environmental law, permitting, land use, zoning, regulatory questions or energy-sector specific legal issues.
  • Experience with AI tools or legal technology, or a willingness to learn.
  • Ability to collaborate across practice groups, including with colleagues working in real estate, corporate, finance, regulatory and dispute resolution.
  • Full professional proficiency in both Finnish and English.
  • A Finnish Attorney-at-Law background is welcome but not required.

Main duties and responsibilities

Your work will cover a broad range of energy, infrastructure and real estate development assignments. You will advise clients on matters relating to clean transition projects, energy and infrastructure investments, data center projects, real estate development, project-related contracts, regulatory questions, permitting and transactions.

Your work may include:

  • Advising clients on energy and infrastructure projects, including renewable energy, grid-related matters, energy storage, data centers and other clean transition projects.
  • Supporting domestic and cross-border transactions in the energy, infrastructure and real estate sectors.
  • Advising on real estate development projects, including project structuring, development arrangements, land use, permitting and regulatory interfaces.
  • Working on environmental law, permitting and other public law aspects of projects, together with specialists across the firm where needed.
  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating project-related agreements and transaction documents.
  • Managing your own workstreams and client communications.
  • Contributing to business development and the continued growth of the Energy, Infrastructure and Real Estate practice.

You will work as part of a team that combines local expertise with DLA Piper’s international platform. We are looking for colleagues who want to be close to the client, understand the commercial context, drive matters forward and be part of building a leading practice in sectors that are central to the clean transition and future infrastructure.
