As a Platform Engineer at DLA Piper, you’ll manage and maintain Azure cloud environments, enabling scalable, secure, and automated infrastructure. Working within the Cloud Platform Team and collaborating across IT functions, you’ll apply DevOps and Reliability Engineering practices to streamline CI/CD, monitor systems, and optimize performance, security, and cost. Your work will support consistent, high-quality environments that empower teams to build and innovate.
Main duties and responsibilities
- Deploy, debug, and maintain cloud-based systems to support business and customer needs
- Monitor infrastructure to improve stability, performance, and cost-efficiency
- Promote DevOps and Reliability Engineering practices across teams
- Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) templates aligned with architecture and security standards
- Troubleshoot complex issues across network, OS, applications, and databases
- Document systems and create runbooks for knowledge sharing.

What You Bring
- Proven experience with large-scale Azure cloud infrastructure
- Strong DevOps/CloudOps background with a focus on resilience and reliability
- Familiarity with monitoring tools and SRE/observability principles
- Experience working within regulatory frameworks (SOC, ISO27001, Cyber Essentials)
- Automation-first mindset using IaC, source control, and pipelines
- Self-starter with strong planning, organisation, and communication skills
Technical Knowledge – we don’t expect you to know it all! You will have an understanding of the below and an appetite to learn.
- Azure tenant, subscription, and cost management
- Identity & access control (RBAC, Active Directory)
- Networking (Hub & Spoke, VPN, DNS, API Management, WAF, etc.)
- IaaS (Linux/Windows VMs) and PaaS (Key Vault, Storage, SQL/Postgres, Kubernetes, PowerBI)
- Monitoring and logging (Sentinel, Log Analytics, KQL, Dashboards, Alerts).
