
Role Purpose
The Test Lead is responsible for leading the testing efforts within a Platform or Product team: planning, coordinating, and executing testing activities to ensure the required quality outcomes
As a more experienced member of the team, they will lead the way, providing guidance and support to other team members, leading on best practice, and identifying opportunities to standardise, improve and automate testing
They will drive collaboration within Platform or Product teams to ensure end-to-end QA&Test activities are aligned with team shared goals and outcomes.
Main duties and responsibilities
- Work within a Product or Platform team to lead and manage the full end to end test lifecycle
- Collaborate within Platform/Product teams to ensure seamless integration of testing activities and informing Platform/Product roadmap development
- Develop, maintain and take accountability for test strategy, planning, test cases, and test scripting.
- Lead, coach and mentor a team of testers, providing guidance and support to ensure effective testing practices.
- Oversee, assure and perform the execution of test cases, including functional, regression, performance, and security testing.
- Collaborate with other Platform & Product team stakeholders to define and implement Defect management processes
- Define, generate and present test reports, metrics, and status updates to meet Platform/Product stakeholder needs.
- Process Improvement:Â Continuously improve testing processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Identify opportunities for automating testing and delivery.
About you
- Lead level experience in a mature test setting
- Leads as well as hands on (& a desire to continue being involved at all levels)
- Strong test automation & CI/CD background
- Proficient in automation tooling & developing scripts (API & UI level).
- Â Experience of testing internally developed software & 3rd party products (with many complex integrations).
- Stakeholder management, including business customers & 3rd parties
- Natural coaching style with an evident passion for testing.
- An excellent eye for detail, clear and structured in approach and communications
- Fluent & effective communication of complex information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Agile & DevOps working practises & experience of working in Agile teams
- Solution focussed and positive attitude to challenges
- Expertise in testing techniques used to plan and execute tests of all application components
- Non-Functional test experience, particularly performance testing
- Resilience

- UI automation tools e.g. Tosca test automation suite or similar
- Open-source automation tools e.g. WebdriverIO, Postman
- Performance test tools e.g. J-Meter
- Test management tools - Jira, xRay for Jira
- Testing within SaaS environments
- Relevant industry recognised qualifications, e.g.:
