
The Department
The Marketing, Business Development & Communications (MBD) team in Warsaw forms an integral part of DLA Piper’s international MBD structure. Supporting one of the largest jurisdictions in the CEE region, with 21 Partners and nearly 120 fee earners, the team is responsible for delivering strategic business development initiatives and leading the firm’s marketing and client engagement efforts.
In close collaboration with Partners and practice groups, the team helps strengthen client relationships, elevate market positioning, and drive thought leadership. Its work plays a key role in advancing the firm’s global strategy of delivering insight-driven, client-centric, and commercially impactful legal services.

Role Purpose
The BD & Pitch Specialist will be at the forefront of driving strategic business development initiatives and managing the entire pitch process for our Warsaw office. This dynamic role blends a strong focus on client relationship development with hands-on ownership of proposal creation and directory submissions.
As a vital liaison for Partners and lawyers, the successful candidate will ensure that all business development activities are insight-driven, streamlined, and fully aligned with firmwide standards. This is a unique opportunity to shape how we win new business and strengthen our market presence.
Main duties and responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate the full pitch process, from content development and Partner engagement to alignment with global best practices.
- Collaborate with legal teams to identify and pursue growth opportunities, including cross-selling across practices and sectors.
- Develop and implement sector-specific business development plans, leveraging internal data and external market intelligence.
- Manage legal directory and award submissions (e.g., Chambers, Legal 500), ensuring timely, accurate, and high-quality contributions from fee earners.
- Support the rollout and adoption of pitch technology tools (such as Qorus) to improve process efficiency and knowledge management.
- Ensure all BD materials reflect DLA Piper’s brand, tone, and client-centric approach.
- Work closely with colleagues across the Marketing & Business Development (MBD) team to deliver integrated campaigns, support strategic events, and drive client engagement initiatives
About you
- Bring a minimum of 4-5 years of experience in business development and pitching, ideally within a professional services or legal environment.
- Demonstrate a strategic mindset with the ability to interpret data and translate insights into actionable business development plans.
- Deliver high-quality, client-facing proposals, directories, and marketing materials under tight deadlines.
- Communicate effectively in both Polish and English, with strong writing and editing skills.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, maintaining a proactive and detail-oriented approach.
- Experience with CRM systems and business development platforms would be an advantage.
