As a result we have an exciting opportunity for an E- Discovery Project Manager to join a talented team of experts. You will be working as part of the Litigation & Regulatory Group with responsibility for managing eDiscovery projects throughout Australia and other APAC offices.
The eDiscovery Project Manager serves a key role on the Electronic Data Management (EDM) team as a primary point of accountability for building alignment and consistency in our response to large scale eDiscovery reviews and service delivery to our clients, as well as in our engagement with the various regulators, courts, and tribunals that the firm connects with daily.
Main duties and responsibilities
Whilst this list is not exhaustive, we anticipate that some of the key areas of focus and responsibility will require the successful applicant to:
- Hands on delivery of end-to-end eDiscovery tasks in RelativityOne including data processing, managing reviews, running active learning projects and document productions.
- Identifying opportunities and recommending the use of Relativity and other eDiscovery technologies, automation and processes to ensure efficient and high value legal services are delivered to DLA Piper's clients.
- Planning and implementing eDiscovery solutions on a case specific basis from data collection to trial.
- Documenting and agreeing project requirements.
- Managing eDiscovery projects to ensure requirements are met (including adherence to budget).
- Engaging with and instructing third parties as required.
- Assisting with the negotiation of Exchange Protocols.
- Producing required reports and tracking documentation.
- Managing instructing lawyer and client expectations whilst delivering strong consultancy and advice on risk management, commerciality and technical project elements.
- Supporting the Group's training on best practice, marketing and BD activity insofar as it relates to eDiscovery and electronic document management.
- Develop and maintain relationships with internal teams, in particular the Legal Delivery Centre, Legal Project Management and Legal Technology teams.
About you
This role is designed to deliver e-discovery and e-data capability for a range of service needs across the international firm. Whilst we do not indicate a specific level of experience required for any of our vacancies, we are ideally seeking an individual with significant skill, experience and characteristics as follows:
- Experience in providing litigation support and managing the eDiscovery process in large scale matters.
- A strong blend of hands-on technical capability coupled with consultancy expertise and strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in use of eDiscovery software, such as Relativity, Reveal Data and Nuix, or other equivalent eDiscovery platforms, and familiarity with the third-party service providers in the market and their offerings.
- Experience in negotiating Exchange Protocols.
- Understanding of the legal procedure and requirements in relation to discovery / e-discovery.
- Ability to interact confidently with lawyers, partners and external providers
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- A practical ability to identify efficient and effective solutions to non-standard situations.
