We are looking to hire a Dutch speaking Lawyer (with 4-6 years of experience) to join our Top Tier Insolvency team in Belgium.

Main duties and responsibilities

As a Lawyer within the Restructuring & Insolvency team in our Brussels office, you will be responsible for providing a wide range of services to our clients. You will be tasked with research, preparing legal advice, submissions and developing your talents as a restructuring lawyer and litigator before the Belgian courts. In collaboration with the Partner and the lead lawyers, you will assist our clients and advise them on strategic advice with regards to restructuring and litigation.

Your role will involve:

  • Conduct research and draft tailored advice for clients
  • Writing submissions and pleading
  • Liaise with Partner and Lead lawyers to gather necessary inputs
  • Manage the day-to-day handling of insolvencies/ liquidations, and insolvency litigations
  • Collaborate closely with the team to discuss case strategies
  • Assist clients and advise on insolvency law and dispute resolution.

About you

Candidates should be able to demonstrate that they have/are:

  • Obtained a Belgian master's degree in law, and can show evidence a solid academic track record
  • Qualified to practice as a lawyer in Belgium
  • 4- 6 years of experience in restructuring and insolvency projects in the law firm
  • A Native Dutch speaker with excellent command of English and French (verbal and written)
  • High work standards with a strong service orientation
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent legal skills and an analytical mind, with attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritise and efficiently deal with complex files
  • Well organised, proactive, flexible, pragmatic, social and a team player
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced international environment
  • Accuracy, confidentiality and punctuality are second nature to you
  • Keen on working in a dynamic, demanding yet rewarding context.
