The role


The Lead Security Architect will lead in both supporting critical projects and initiatives across the business and in managing the day to day operation of the security architecture team. The successful candidate will contribute to the strategic direction of Information Security & resilience, lead on the definition and implementation of policies and standards, and work closely with business service partners to outline principles against which new projects and initiatives can be governed. 


  • Ownership and definition of the detailed security architecture for a variety of cloud and other projects deployed across the International firm to ensure that they are secure by design
  • Provide security consulting including design, reviews and recommendations for various projects and initiatives as a security SME for architectures, services and processes
  • Implementation of cutting edge application security techniques, such as threat modelling, to help identify the threats and risks associated with the services that we deploy
  • Implementation of consistent security development processes and day to day engagement with the development teams to advise and consult on security matters in order to develop our DevSecOps processes and culture
  • Work cross functionally with the other Security & IT teams in the technical discipline to capture and progress best practices and processes, to ensure consistency of security architectural practices.
  • Applying security design principles to review platform and application architectures
  • Identify and provide security requirements to projects and initiatives and RFI/RFPs
  • Ensure requirements are met (implementation governance)
  • Produce and maintain architectural artefacts (designs, patterns, registers) continually improving these as required
  • Drive improvements, support compliance through the execution of our security strategy
  • Broad-scan for the latest technology and trends relevant to security architecture to support and influence technical strategy


  • Significant experience of security architecture design and delivery – 5 years +
  • Deep technical knowledge on security and networking covering solutions and technologies in both cloud and mobile space.
  • Must have experience in Azure Cloud Security and threat modelling to identify threats and risks
  • Knowledge of industry best practice security patterns (technical and process, along with their integrations approach) and apply them in the context of the environment
  • Maintained awareness of emerging threats and vulnerability research
  • Working knowledge of the use of Enterprise Systems Management tools
  • Familiarity in Agile development processes
  • An adaptable and pragmatic approach and a curious mind, continually asking ‘why’
  • An appreciation of what ‘better’ looks like, and the will to make improvements happen
