The role

THE OPPORTUNITY 

This role supports the Head of MBD UK on delivering the three-year UK strategic priorities for Marketing and Business Development. This will involve managing UK campaigns, events and business development initiatives, working closely with the Head of MBD and counterparts in the UK and Internationally.

  • Support the UK Head of Marketing and BD to deliver UK activity and pilots with clear objectives and communication cascades, so there is efficient roll out, delivery and review, where applicable. Examples in key areas are: 
    • The UK client strategic priority to embed our client FOCUS methodology across the UK with a pilot in 2022 and UK-wide launch in 2023 with continued focus thereafter
    • The UK messaging initiative and communications plan to make sure there is coordinated approach to building and maintaining our brand profile in the UK.  This will involve working with the UK Office MBD Managers, agency and the central communications team, to deliver the aims of the UK brand profiling element of the three year strategic plan for the UK. 
    • The UK Sector Strategy roll out of the second 3 year plan
    • Keep track of all activity with clear oversight of all programmes delivered locally providing UK-wide measurement and quarterly reporting.  At the start this will involve working with the UK Head of MBD to devise the logging and measurement system and then handling this on an ongoing basis
    • Write or draft internal communication pieces, articles, copy for external client-facing materials and communication of all forms
  • The role will utilise the full marketing mix including profile-raising through internal and external communication including the overall media planning for the UK business, events, writing copy for internal communication purposes, social media (working with the central social media team), marketing campaigns and client targeting programmes
  • This wide-ranging position covers all aspects of marketing and involves working with different parts of the business and counterparts in the UK team
  • This will be an interesting and fast-paced role in a lively, dynamic environment with the opportunity to work on a range of initiatives with an array of partners across groups and sectors, and with teams in all parts of the business

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • University degree
  • Excellent written skills with a passion for writing 
  • A professional approach, demonstrating commitment and dedication
  • Highly organised with excellent communication and project management skills, and sharp attention to detail  
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to be persuasive and diplomatic
  • Excellent understanding and experience of marketing with a commercial mind. Able to demonstrate a track record of managing, or being an integral part of the team delivering, successful marketing, media and communications campaigns 
  • Experience managing events of all types from business dinners and panel discussions to large receptions and conferences, working with high profile speakers and guests 
  • Ideally demonstrate experience of working with PR and media agencies or on PR and media campaigns, otherwise demonstrate a flair for learning and interest in this area of marketing
  • An ability to motivate others to be engaged and excited in programmes and activity which they might not initially see as a priority. Willing to be actively involved in the details whenever necessary
  • Used to dealing with a demanding workload and conflicting priorities 
  • Experience working with marketing agencies e.g. events, communications, PR, production
  • Competent presentation skills are required with a willingness to present and take the lead at times
  • Excellent skills with PowerPoint and Excel are an advantage. Competency with PowerPoint, Excel, Word and Outlook is essential, along with the ability to present data in an effective way
  • Have a positive, enthusiastic outlook and approach to work. Thrive on achieving results in a fast-paced environment. Confident working alone, and also enjoy being part of a team with a collaborative working style
  • Enjoy working in a vibrant, varied role and open to working on new initiatives
