  • Leadership of the local IT Legal Technology Specialist teams supporting the IT needs of DLA Piper business.
  • Provide direction to the business and IT departments in implementing consistent repeatable, cost effective local IT support services.
  • Maximising productivity through technology approach and culture.


  • Order process, stock levels, authorisation, consumables and facilities liaison.
  • Client assistance 
  • Meeting rooms, wireless, presentations and client site visits.

Third line assistance

  • Project, telecoms, server, network and applications development.

PC Hardware

  • Dell, third party liaison, new setups and ordering accessories.


  • DMS, law firm specific applications, digital dictation, time recording, remote working, installation, common fixes, one on one coaching and security.

Blackberries / Mobiles

  • Faulty swap outs, new starters, lost/stolen process, user guidance, configuration, activations, BES, sim and insurance.

Desk phones

  • IP, digital, analogue, requests, repairs and authorisation process.

Major incident support

  • Floor walking, investigating and line of communication.


  • Call logging process, maintenance, stock and server configuration.

Project support

  • In house, external, international and business.

Office moves

  • Desk moves, expansions, relocations, checklists and change control.

New starters/Leavers

  • HR liaison, service management process, checklists and inductions.


Local IT Representative to the business

  • First point of contact for new country specific requirements.
  • IT Resource planning for on site cover.
  • Attend regular management meetings.
  • Key stakeholder for projects.
  • Lead on local initiatives.

Team leadership

  • Coaching and educating your legal technology specialists team.
  • Mentoring newer staff.
  • Authority to make local decisions with the guidance of IT Management.

Supplier management

  • Telecommunications.
  • Mobile phone and Blackberry contracts.
  • Network infrastructure.
  • Hard copy functionality.
  • Country / Site specific applications.
  • Office moves.
  • Asset management and inventories.


  • Agreeing, planning and reporting IT Budgets for the country.


  • More than 4 years' experience in a desktop support role.
  • Management experience of small teams.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft technologies and products.
  • Any IT qualifications considered.
  • Basic understanding of Network Infrastructure.
  • Experience of remote management.
  • Ability to interface with all levels of lawyers, supervisors internally and across diverse cultures.
  • Travel required.
