An exciting opportunity has become available for a high-performing Senior Legal Assistant to join DLA Piper's Legal Administration Team in Sydney. Working within our Litigation and Regulatory practice, you will be part of a collaborative and high-performing team, providing a broad range of administrative support to multiple fee earners.

Joining our Legal Administration Team means becoming part of a collaborative and supportive environment where your contribution is valued. You will work alongside experienced professionals, support high-quality legal work, and have opportunities to further develop your skills while contributing to the success of the team and the firm.

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Provide high level support to partners and fee earners as a trusted advisor
  • Word processing, document preparation and drafting correspondence
  • Complex diary management (Outlook)
  • Financials - including processing expenses and third party invoicing, collaborating closely with the Billing Team to deliver seamless support to partners and fee earners
  • Liaising with both internal and external clients as required
  • Organising travel arrangements
  • Ensuring accurate and timely use of our client relationship management system
  • Creating new client matter files, closing and archiving client matter files, maintaining document management processes
  • Organising and assisting with client functions, entertainment and seminars, as required
  • Mentoring of junior legal assistant staff
  • All general administrative tasks including filing and photocopying

About you

  • 5+ years experience working in a similar role within a law firm or professional services environment
  • Experience in Litigation strongly preferred
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and oral), demonstrate an eye for detail and approach your tasks with enthusiasm and pride
  • Thrive in a fast-paced working environment, and relish the opportunity to exercise your proven time management and organisational skills to deliver excellent client service
  • Demonstrate advanced proficiency in the MS Suite
