The Senior In‑Country Applications Engineer is responsible for the full lifecycle management of business‑critical applications, ensuring their security, availability, compliance, performance, and seamless integration within the enterprise environment. The role requires technical depth, autonomy, ownership, and the ability to work across IT, business, compliance, and third‑party vendors.
Main duties and responsibilities
Troubleshooting & Diagnostics
- Resolve complex OS, application, and network issues
- Diagnose hardware and compatibility problems and design remediation strategies
Application Onboarding & Maintenance
- Perform initial business and technical assessments for new applications
- Collaborate with 3rd‑party vendors, business owners, Data Privacy Team, Information Security Team, Procurement
- Package and deploy applications via Intune according to organizational standards
- Conduct manual testing, validation, and full deployment ownership
Vulnerability & Server Management
- Monitor and remediate vulnerabilities affecting applications and servers
- Work with vendors to coordinate patching and issue resolution within SLAs
Operational Documentation
- Maintain full documentation sets: technical docs, runbooks, troubleshooting guides, onboarding materials, and procedural steps
Incident & Problem Management
- Lead RCA investigations and drive long-term remediation plans
- Coordinate escalations with global IT teams and produce post‑incident reports
Change & Release Management
- Create and manage ITIL-compliant change requests
- Work with CAB, ensure risk assessments, and validate rollback plans
Compliance & Audit Support
- Ensure applications comply with regulatory and internal requirements
- Prepare audit evidence and maintain accurate audit trails for deployments and changes
Performance Monitoring & Optimization
- Monitor health, availability, and performance of applications and servers
- Conduct capacity planning and optimize performance where needed
Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity
- Maintain DR documentation and participate in DR testing and validation
Stakeholder Communication
- Provide clear updates to business owners, leadership, and non-technical stakeholders
- Communicate effectively during outages, maintenance events, and major changes
Security & Access Management
- Manage application-level access and collaborate with IAM teams on onboarding/offboarding
- Enforce least-privilage and conduct periodic access reviews
Automation & Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities for automation and develop PowerShell scripts or tooling to streamline operations
Vendor Management
- Manage relationships with external software providers and review SLA performance
Lifecycle Management
- Plan and execute upgrades, migrations, platform transitions, and EOL strategies
About you
- 5–7+ years of experience in application support, or systems engineering within a large enterprise environment
- Strong troubleshooting skills across endpoint operating systems and application stacks — including both simple and complex(enterprise) applications — covering performance, networking, and security policy issues. Familiarity with Windows Server is considered a plus
- Hands‑on experience with Intune, MSI/Win32 packaging, and software deployment pipelines
- Strong understanding of enterprise networking — both at the architectural and practical level — including network design concepts, segmentation, routing, firewalls, SSL/TLS certificates, DNS, proxies, traffic flows, and security best practices
- Proficiency in PowerShell (automation, scripting, packaging helpers, operational efficiency)
- Solid understanding of ITIL processes: Incident, Problem, Change, and Release
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to work with global teams and non‑technical stakeholders
- Proven ability to produce high-quality documentation and maintain knowledge base
- Ownership mindset: able to work independently, drive initiatives, and manage multiple priorities
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience supporting or deploying enterprise legal applications (e.g., DMS, matter management, timekeeping, legal research platforms, litigation tools)
- Ability to develop PowerShell App Deploy Toolkit (PSADT) workflows
- Experience with MS Azure services
- Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001)
- Advanced PowerShell automation for packaging, monitoring, and platform integration
- Experience participating in DR/BCP planning and execution
- Exposure to vendor contract/SLA management
- Understanding of application performance tuning and capacity planning
- Basic understanding of infrastructure‑as‑code concepts, Terraform
- Familiarity with API-based integrations (REST/SOAP), especially for vendor systems
