As a Legal Project Analyst, you will support the successful delivery of legal matters by providing structured project coordination, data analysis, and documentation support. Working closely with Legal Project Managers and other team members, you will help ensure that projects stay on track, insights are data-driven, and stakeholders are kept well-informed. This is a junior but critical role in the team, suited to someone with a strong eye for detail, technical confidence, and a proactive mindset.
You will typically work on one or two projects at a time, often under the guidance of a Legal Project Manager but you will be expected to manage your own workload and deliverables with limited direct supervision. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to develop their career in legal project management in a fast-paced, global environment.
Main duties and responsibilities
- Project Coordination: Support the planning, tracking, and delivery of legal matters, with a focus on timelines, budgets, trackers and key milestones
- Data and Reporting: Maintain and update project documentation, trackers, and dashboards using Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. Deliver clear, concise reporting that supports decision-making
- Insight Generation: Assist in analysing legal workflows, financials, and matter data to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for efficiency or solutions
- Process Support: Contribute to the development and maintenance of tools, templates, and best practices to improve matter delivery and client service
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with legal teams, Legal Project Managers, Finance, and other business functions to ensure projects are aligned and executed smoothly
- Tool Adoption: Champion the use of project management and collaboration tools, encouraging consistency and best practice across teams
About you
- Experience: 1–2 years’ experience in a project support, operations, or analyst role, ideally within a professional services or legal environment
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional accuracy and precision in your work — detail is everything in this role
- Analytical Skills: Able to interpret data sets, spot inconsistencies, and extract meaningful insights.
- Technical Proficiency: Confident using Microsoft Excel (including formulas and pivot tables), PowerPoint (for clear, professional reporting), and Word. Experience with other tools (e.g., Smartsheet, Power BI, or project platforms) is a bonus
- Organisation: Able to manage your time and workload effectively across multiple workstreams
- Self-Sufficiency: Comfortable working independently with light-touch oversight, and able to ask smart questions when needed
- Communication: Clear and professional verbal and written communication; confident liaising with colleagues across various levels
- Mindset: Proactive, curious, and solutions-oriented — always looking for ways to improve and deliver value
Desirable (but not essential)
- Familiarity with legal project management principles or methodologies (e.g., Prince2, APM, Foundation, Agile etc.)
- Experience working in a large, global or matrixed organisation
