
We are looking for a Junior Power BI Developer to work within an experienced team of developers providing an opportunity to grow their experience in designing and building high quality reports, models and dashboards in PBI. This role will also build on their already basic experience in defining and creating data sets/flows. The role will be responsible for maintaining live dashboards for our internal and extermal customers as well as making basic amendments where required. As this role will require basic Power BI knowledge on simple dashboards, you will be able to offer advice as and when needed to Citizen Developers starting out in this technology.
This role will have some basic knowledge of Power BI as a starting point but important is the mindset of the successful candidate to grow and learn and a proactive approach to working through technical issues is essential. This role will be critical in the Power BI team and supporting the more experienced developers workload to allow them to concentrate on complex dashboards. It would be an advantage if the successful candidate had some knowledge in SharePoint, Power Automate and SQL. Whilst these are not requirements, a basic knowledge is an advantage.

Main duties and responsibilities
- Design, build and deploy Microsoft Power BI semantic models, reports, dashboards and apps across all workstreams of the business
- Support the development of quality semantic data models aligned with best practice and industry standard for optimal model and report performance.
- Help manage data sets and flows for projects, and assist in monitoring data refreshes, usage, and security
- â Attend technical and business meeting, assist in converting business requirements into technical specifications and decide the timeline to accomplish tasks.
- â Work with end users to support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) processes.
- Collaborate with other developers and support Citizen Developers using Power BI, while building relationships across the organization
- Acquire expertise rapidly in own and other related fields and ability to self-learn
- Contibute to overall strategy of the data and visualisation reports and direction of the Firm in this area
About you
- Approximately one year of experience working with Power BI
- Familiarity with DAX/M language and a willingness to learn and improve
- An interest in creating visually appealing and functional reports, with a basic understanding of design principles
- Basic understanding of data models, with a desire to learn about multi-dimensional data models
- A good communicator and team player
- Confident, motivated, proactive, focussed on business objectives
- Ability to engage with a variety of stakeholders under supervision
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to take on new challenges
- Desirable: Experience in SQL, SharePoint or any of the other Power Platform components eg. Power Automation
