We are seeking a dynamic individual to collaborate with end users, translating their needs into actionable development tasks and ensuring the timely delivery of impactful solutions within our EPM Suite.
The Product Manager – Planning Analytics is responsible for managing the product development function within the Finance Solutions team. This role ensures that business needs for our EPM Suite are met by prioritising and aggregating backlogs, and managing feedback from stakeholders.
The Product Manager provides daily oversight of product-related activities, supports senior management in delivering a prioritised roadmap, and collaborates with the development team to develop effective solutions.
Additionally, the role involves maintaining strong relationships with key users and understanding the financial processes relevant to their functions.
Main duties and responsibilities
- Collaborating with end users to understand their needs and translate them into product designs and actionable development tasks and providing relevant support.
- Analysing the backlog to identify quick wins and high-impact developments.
- Prioritising development requests based on strategic value and resource availability, in consultation with Head of Finance Solutions, Global Process Leads and finance representatives.
- Maintain a transparent and prioritised backlog, providing visibility to all stakeholders
- Tracking progress and ensuring timely delivery of development items.
- Defining the test cases and ensuring quality of updates and fixes, using appropriate planning and release tracking solutions
- Reporting on backlog status, progress, and efficiency gains to senior management, and communication to end users.
About you
- Demonstrate a passion for the creation and delivery of best-in-class reporting processes and products
- Strong awareness of the needs of working with developers and subject matter experts and an ability to lead them through to successful delivery
- Excellent written and verbal skill for the communication of complex processes
- An ability to influence peers and associated teams to operate collaboratively to meet the needs of the Product Management team
- A solid understanding of Finance EPM processes within a large organisation, particularly a law firm, would be highly desirable.
- An ability to access and interrogate data, to support basic analysis and prototyping.
- An awareness of the reporting and data manipulation capabilities available within the IBM Planning Analytics (TM1) suite, including integration with other, third-party tools
- Understanding and practical use of Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum would be desirable
