In Australia, this includes us advising on many of the most significant venture capital, private equity, ECM and M&A deals in the technology sector.

We are currently looking for a Senior Associate – M&A with an interest to grow their career focused on the tech sector. 


Our team focused on corporate law work in the tech sector has been a fast growing business for almost a decade. This has accelerated in the past 18 months with high levels of inbound investment from our US clients, many of our local clients raising large amounts of capital, and our stable of VC and private equity fund clients increasing.

We are looking to recruit a senior associate who will work closely with fast growth tech companies (both emerging growth and unicorns), venture capital funds, corporate venture capital funds, tech focused growth equity and private equity funds and later stage technology companies undertaking tech M&A. 

You will advise predominantly on M&A deals, but you will have, or be willing to develop, expertise to support on a broad range of tech deals, including some of the following: venture capital raising, corporate venture capital, IPO and public company capital raisings, convertible notes and growth equity and private equity deals.

You will not need necessarily to be currently focused on the tech or venture capital sectors, but you will be excited to play a part in the significant growth those sectors are likely to experience in the next 5 years and share our enthusiasm for the opportunity that lies ahead.

You will receive first class on the job support and training from our Senior Partners in our Melbourne office working closely with Joel Cox . You will work with other Corporate Partners across the Australian practice, further broadening your transaction and sector expertise.  You will also have access to our DLA Piper Career Academies, an award-winning international development forum designed to cultivate high performance and support your career goals.
