The role

We are seeking a skilled Treasury Accountant to join our Finance team based in London or Sheffield to support the Group Treasury function. The Treasury Accountant will be responsible for overseeing the firm’s treasury operations, manage all accounting related matters of the Treasury team and ensuring compliance with the Treasury Policy. The role requires an in-depth understanding of International Treasury with Systems management, combined with a solid foundation in accounting principles.  

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Cash management

  • Monitor daily cash position, review cash flow forecast and execute cash management strategy to meet local funding requirements
  • Liaise with the International offices across the group (Europe, Middle East, Africa, APAC) to ensure cash is repatriated to treasury
  • Monitor, review and manage cash pool requirements across the Firm.

Risk Management

  • Assist in managing FX transactions and hedging activities, ensuring proper accounting treatment and compliance in line with the Treasury Policy
  • Monitor the Credit Ratings and the Counterparty Exposures.

Accounting

  • Be responsible for the Treasury entity accounting matters and Journal/Posting queries
  • Prepare accurate financial reports, forecasts, and the cash/borrowings budgets
  • Review and monitor tax implications on treasury activities in partnership with the central tax function
  • Manage the Intercompany Loan structure and the Interest calculation/settlements process.

Reporting and Compliance

  • Oversee compliance with all covenants and forecast future impacts on covenants
  • Perform weekly/monthly treasury reporting including Executive and Board reporting
  • Assist with process design and documentation to ensure Segregation of duties and business continuity
  • Assist with the Year End Audit process

Treasury Management System

  • Collaborate with Finance systems team to optimize treasury systems and technology platforms
  • Identify opportunities for automations and strategic improvements
  • Be part of the project team responsible to implement a dedicated TMS for Group Treasury.

ABOUT YOU

  • Accountancy qualification (ACA or ACCA) and/or Treasury Qualification (ACT)
  • Proven treasury experience in a large multinational environment
  • Previous exposure in FX and international cash management is essential
  • Ability to deliver continuous process improvements and value to the Treasury Function and the International Firm
  • Advanced Excel skills and good knowledge of MS Office, specifically power point.
  • SAP experience is beneficial but not essential.
  • Great organisational skills and ability to work to tight deadlines.
  • Strong problem solver with intellectual curiosity and a “can-do” attitude
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with all levels within the organisation
  • Highly analytical and numerate with excellent attention to detail
  • Be comfortable operating in sometimes ambiguous situations, demonstrating a flexible and collaborative personal working style.
