An exciting opportunity has become available for a proactive, highly motivated and client-focused Business Development (BD) Coordinator to join our BD & Marketing team based in Perth.

The successful candidate will support strategic business development and marketing initiatives across the Office, Sectors and Practice Groups (PGs), focussing on a range of go-to-market activities, resulting in profitable and long-term growth. This role involves working with various internal stakeholders across the firm to implement BD best practice in addition to supporting client relationships.

Ideally you will hold tertiary qualifications in either marketing, communications, business or similar. Events or prior marketing experience would be looked upon favourably as would a knowledge of, or experience within, the legal industry.

  • Supporting the implementation of Perth Office and Practice Group BD plans.
  • Coordinating Office and PG-led events including pre-work, list development and coordination, and working with the Perth Office Services team and external providers, to deliver successful and valued client events.
  • Undertaking desktop research and drafting content for a range of pitches and capability statements in addition to document (powerpoint) development and control.
  • Drafting content for internal communications channels.
  • Supporting the sector BD lead to implement the sector BD plan aligned to the Australian and international sector strategy, as well providing support to tracking sector MBD budgets and expenditure in Australia.
  • Supporting the sector BD lead in setting up internal communications with the sector team to help build a shared understanding of the key emerging issues and trends that are most relevant and likely to impact the sectors priority clients and prospects in Australia. 
  • Coordinating the development of marketing content (working through Creative Services team, RRD and/or GSC) to translate these into market facing ideas that can be taken to clients and targets. 
  • Helping to set up regular and effective lines of communication in Australia (Teams pages, regular meetings, email distribution, etc), to enable collaboration in local market, share insights and collaborate on live BD opportunities and client targeting across the sector.
  • Coordinating sector-led events. 
  • Coordinating and distributing client publications and alerts.
  • Drafting legal directory and awards submissions for the sector and monitoring key deadlines. 
  • Prepare innovative digital content in consultation with the Sector BD lead
  • Undertaking desktop research and drafting content for a range of pitches and capability statements in addition to document (powerpoint) development and control.
  • Drafting content and assisting in the development of sector pitch book materials and other marketing collateral to facilitate lawyer self service options. 
  • Drafting sector content for internal communications channels.
  • Liaising with GSC and RRD for MBD requests and graphic design support.
  • Supporting the sector BD-led to track and monitor sector led client feedback.
  • Supporting and helping execute the agreed strategic sector marketing plan to build the brand in the local market (including, but not limited to, firm campaigns, events, sponsorships, content marketing and social media, directories).
