The role

We are currently looking to recruit an Associate to join our Litigation & Regulatory team in Luxembourg. The role will primary focus on involvement in (i) high value and complex litigation disputes (ii) providing contentious regulatory advice. Acting for a diverse client and sector base, the successful candidate will gain direct experience in all aspects of dispute avoidance, providing regulatory advice, management and resolution of high quality complex disputes. 

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Candidates will have a broad range of work, that will include, but not be limited to:

  • Advising on all aspects of disputes avoidance, management and resolution of high quality highly complex disputes across a range of sectors
  • Management of disputes and preparation of strategies for dealing with claims 
  • Drafting, reviewing and amending a range of dispute related documents 
  • Strategically advising clients and managing client expectations and project delivery appropriately 
  • Liaising and taking instructions from clients
  • Attending client meetings
  • Business development – development of a personal plan, assistance with and implementation of business development campaigns 
  • Providing contentious regulatory advice
  • Legal research

ABOUT YOU
The successful candidate with have the following experience and qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in law – admission to the Luxembourg Bar or any other European Bar (or soon to be admitted).
  • 0 – 2 years of litigation and/or contentious regulatory experience, ideally gained from an a leading law firm
  • Be able to demonstrate an understanding of technical issues that are key to clients
  • Complies with professional standards and all relevant regulatory obligations 
  • Being collaborative, inclusive and approachable with strong values and a purpose driven mindset 
  • An entrepreneurial approach is very much encouraged at all levels within the firm so candidates will need to demonstrate a business-oriented mindset
  • Able to build and develop trusting and effective relationships, internally and externally
  • Commercially astute and stays current on key legal and business news 
  • Excellent skills in communication, client relations, and team-working
  • Excellent communication and drafting skills in English and French. German and/or Luxembourgish would be a plus
