An exciting opportunity has become available for a high performing administration focused Legal Assistant to join DLA Piper’s Secretarial Team in our Melbourne Office supporting the Corporate, Employment & Tax practice groups.
In this dynamic position, you will be part of a collaborative team where you will provide a range of administrative support to multiple fee earners in the practice group.

ABOUT YOU

  • At least 2 years’ experience working in a similar role within a law firm or professional services environment
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and oral), demonstrate an eye for detail and approach your tasks with enthusiasm and pride
  • Thrive in a fast-paced working environment, and relish the opportunity to exercise your proven time management and organisational skills to deliver excellent client service
  • Possess advanced proficiency in the MS Suite, particularly Excel
  • Demonstrate a sense of urgency and work in a high demand administration role

We are looking for experience in:

  • Word processing, document preparation and drafting correspondence
  • Proficient user of Excel
  • Understanding of billing and expense claims functions
  • Ability to manage competing demands
  • Both paper and electronic filing
  • Attention to detail and taking pride in organisation
  • Liaising with both internal and external clients as required
  • Entering client details into a contacts database
  • Creating new client matter files, closing and archiving client matter files
  • All general administrative tasks including filing, printing, scanning and photocopying
