The role

This R&R Data Analytics Specialist role will enable you to work within DLA Piper’s Risk and Resilience team as part of the wider International Risk Group. The role will have a dual focus of (i) data and reporting generation and (ii) supporting ERM activities.

You will be required to liaise with a range of stakeholders across the firm to drive and develop our risk data analytics capability. You will also review data to identify key insights and ways in which the data can be used to identify risk.

Whilst this role is predominantly analytical, it is part of the Enterprise Risk (ERM) team where we are looking for someone with skills in data analytics, dashboards and software experience or mindset. Specific risk management training will be provided.

To be successful in this role, you will have a genuine passion and aptitude for creating, running, refining, and improving scripts and models. You will have a natural ability to build tools that use data in both an effective and insightful way, working with our risk experts to generate powerful and value-added insights.

  • Support the Enterprise Risk Business Unit in delivering the objectives and activities for the roll-out of the risk programme.
  • Work with SMEs and stakeholders in the development and ongoing maintenance of their risk registers using our existing software tool.
  • Interpret, analyse, review and sort risk related data such as those related to risk categories, risk identification and/or business impact analysis and create effective reporting methods which may include, but are not limited to, presentations and dashboards.
  • Support the production and analysis of key risk indicators.
  • Contribute to our enterprise risk strategy and methodology to facilitate the continuous improvement of our business unit’s capabilities.
  • Identify, analyse, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets from multiple systems.
  • Maintain existing data solutions, reports and dashboards and identify and act on opportunities to improve system workflow, performance, and technical efficiency.
  • Support initiatives to collect and store data from other business units to provide a more completer risk picture.

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, software engineering or equivalent.
  • Experience of data analysis and data visualisation using tools such as PowerBi or Python.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to translate data into meaningful visualisations.
  • Ability to build data pipelines with data from on-premises and cloud data stores.
  • Understanding of translating user requirements into deliverable reports and analytical datasets.
  • Strong communication and analytical skills.
  • Ability to learn new technologies quickly.
  • Proven data analysis and problem-solving skills, including knowledge and experience of developing stakeholder facing solutions.
  • Inquisitive, confident, and organised in managing multiple tasks.
