An exciting opportunity has become available for a high performing Senior Legal Assistant to join DLA Piper’s Secretarial Team in our Melbourne Office.

In this dynamic position, you will be part of a collaborative team where you will provide a range of administrative support to multiple fee earners in our Intellectual Property and Technology practice group.

ABOUT YOU

  • 4+ years experience working in a similar role within a law firm or professional services environment
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and oral), demonstrate an eye for detail and approach your tasks with enthusiasm and pride
  • Thrive in a fast-paced working environment, and relish the opportunity to exercise your proven time management and organisational skills to deliver excellent client service
  • Demonstrate advanced proficiency in the MS Suite.

We are looking for experience in:

  • Word processing, document preparation and drafting correspondence
  • Diary management (Outlook)
  • Financials – including external/internal billing and reporting, and third party invoicing
  • Reporting (Especially Excel)
  • Comfortable with and good with numbers
  • Ability to manage competing demands
  • Understanding of billing and expense claims functions
  • Liaising with both internal and external clients as required
  • Organising travel arrangements
  • Entering client details into a contacts database
  • Creating new client matter files, closing and archiving client matter files
  • Mentoring of junior legal assistant staff
  • All general administrative tasks including filing and photocopying
