An opportunity has become available for an experienced Human Resources Advisor to join our Melbourne team. 

As a valued member of our national Human Resources team, you are invited to learn the true meaning of business partnership in your role as the HR Advisor in our Melbourne office. Working alongside a team of experienced HR practitioners, you will provide support for all aspects of the employee lifecycle. From induction, employee engagement, performance management and coaching to offboarding, you will be making an impact and forming relationships across every department at the firm. You will have the opportunity to contribute to and lead exciting projects and initiatives including Learning & Development and Diversity & Inclusion.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Assist with coordinating the onboarding experience for our new starters across the Melbourne office, to ensure a positive and consistent introduction to the business
  • Providing expert guidance to our people and management around policies and legal entitlements
  • Partnering with our HR Centres of Excellence (L&D, D&I, Remuneration & Reward, Talent Acquisition) to ensure successful implementation of DLA Piper initiatives.
  • Working with the HR Managers to identify areas for improvement and opportunity through engagement surveys, exit interviews and general employee feedback
  • Provide performance management guidance (coaching, career development, disciplinary issues)
  • Work on strategic national and global HR projects

ABOUT YOU
We are looking for someone who is passionate about HR and ready to build their career in a global law firm. 

To be successful in the role, you will ideally have:

  • At least 2 years of hands-on generalist Human Resources experience
  • Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Highly self-motivated and results driven
  • Excellent administrative and organizational skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Confidence, professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment
  • High attention to detail
