The role

This is a 6 month FTC with the possibility of going permanent.

As DLA Piper navigates unprecedented change, growth, and evolution, it becomes crucial to adopt an international approach in developing the skills and capabilities necessary for our employees and partners. The Learning & Development Advisor plays a pivotal support role in achieving this objective.

The purpose of this role is to contribute to the firm’s global vision by empowering our employees with the skills and capabilities essential for their success. As part of the Learning & Development Centre of Excellence, the advisor supports the delivery of DLA Piper’s learning strategy. This role is invaluable within the international Learning & Development team, offering individuals an opportunity for career progression through on-the-job experience and coaching.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Projects and programmes (75% of Role):

  • Project and Programme Management: Create and maintain project documentation, process, and best practice to ensure L&D activity plan and projects are executed efficiently
  • Project Coordination and Support: From scoping to implementation, provide project coordination and support for learning initiatives.
  • Research and Contribution: Engage in research and contribute to various projects.
  • Stakeholder Management: Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including Learning & Development (L&D) and Human Resource (HR) Business Partners, colleagues from the Global Support Centre (GSC), and external learning providers.
  • Project Types: Projects may involve process improvement, the rollout of learning campaigns, and onboarding of learning suppliers.

Program / Class Coordination (25% of Role):

  • Scheduling Learning Sessions: Coordinate learning sessions with internal and external facilitators.
  • Course Content Review and Support: Assist in reviewing and supporting the development of course content.
  • Learning Management System (LMS): Collaborate with the Global Support Centre (GSC) team to publish classes and content on the Learning Management System (Success Factors Learning).
  • Feedback Review: Analyse learning feedback and take necessary actions.

ABOUT YOU

Essential:

  • 3 – 5 Years’ Experience: Worked in a Learning & Development Specialist or Advisor role.
  • Project Coordination and Support: Proficient in coordinating and supporting learning and development projects and events.
  • Digital and IT Skills: Strong proficiency in digital tools, including collaboration platforms like Skype, Zoom, and Teams. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Data Analytics: Capable of applying Excel skills to generate summaries and reports from raw data.
  • Workload Management: Demonstrated experience in managing a diverse workload and handling conflicting priorities.
  • Professionalism and Accountability: Maintains a high level of professionalism and personal responsibility.
  • Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Possesses effective communication abilities.
  • Proactive and Enthusiastic: Takes initiative and approaches tasks with enthusiasm.

As one of the communities of expertise within HR, we collaborate seamlessly with specialists in Talent Management, Diversity and Inclusion, Leadership, Engagement, Performance Management, and Wellbeing.
