The role

Assist the IT DR & Resilience Manager in the ongoing management of the firm’s Disaster Recovery programs ensuring alignment in governance between the Resilience Framework with a particular focus on IT’s response and recovery capabilities.

Support the delivery of Disaster Recovery controls across IT and the wider business.

In the event of a disaster assist the IT Resilience Manager in providing guidance and support to the relevant International IT teams to ensure that a successful recovery with minimal business impact is realised.

Promote IT DR Testing with the relevant IT teams and modify and build on the existing testing schedule.

Assist in the development of appropriate resilience and continuity plans, policies and procedures for major systems failures against top threats and vulnerabilities.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure that we have the ability to recover from a Disaster from a technology systems perspective in a timely fashion and with minimal business impact. Working within the IT Major Incident process to support the technical response and act appropriately to the recovery using Disaster Recovery measures
  • Deputise as necessary for the IT DR & Resilience Manager in the event of a service interruption and cover their responsibilities in such interruptions
  • Assist in Business Impact Analysis of IT systems, document, highlight and provide guidance to manage risks and single points of failure identified
  • Assist in the creation of a comprehensive programme of testing and validation, encompassing people, processes, plans and technology, and ensure the plan is executed at the agreed frequencies
  • Feed into and support the IT team in the creation of IT DR runbooks
  • Ensure that the IT Resilience recovery plans are maintained and updated to reflect all changes
  • Ensuring all Team related documentation and registers / contacts / policy’s/processes are managed and kept up-to-date
  • Assist in the assurance of any outsourced providers DR provisions, validated testing through a rigorous review and challenge process.
  • Assist in the preparation of Board and Executive Management Reports
  • Travelling to office locations as needed to provide training, support or project delivery
  • Identify, assess, and report IT Resilience  related risks and issues. Maintain risks and issues log recording decisions formally, feeding into the main risk register
  • Feed into the relevant departmental reporting on a weekly / monthly basis about progress against testing, risks and issues, and escalations requiring resolution

ABOUT YOU

  • Ideally a minimum of 1-2 years’ experience of IT DR, Resilience, Ideally within a large and complex organisation.
  • Experience of stakeholder management
  • A good understanding of IT methodologies, frameworks and best practices. 
  • Ability to communicate at all levels and provide information to a diverse stakeholder group.
  • Experience in dealing/working with 3rd party suppliers to achieve results
  • A positive attitude that always exudes a “can do” approach.
  • Enthusiastic, self-supporting and confident, with the ability to enthuse others and get their engagement.
  • Ability to take ownership of problems and the decision-making process to resolve them.
  • Willingness to build up knowledge of the BC industry standards such as ISO 22301
