We are seeking a skilled Operations Engineer to join our team in any of our Australian offices- Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth or Sydney. As an Operations Engineer, you will be responsible for managing, maintaining and ensuring the smooth operation of our cloud and on-premise infrastructure. If you have a strong background in Azure and VMware technologies, along with experience in managing various IT resources, we encourage you to apply.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitor, deploy, manage, and maintain Azure resources, including VNet (Virtual Network), Azure Load Balancer, Network Security Group (NSG), ACLs, Virtual Machines, Storage Accounts, and Databases
  • Implement security measures to ensure all on-premise servers are properly secured and protected against potential threats
  • Oversee the management and updates of end-user devices, ensuring they are kept up to date and compliant with organizational policies
  • Monitor servers for vulnerabilities and compliance using vulnerability management software (ie Tenable), taking proactive measures to address any identified issues
  • Manage super user accounts through a PAS solutions like CyberArk, ensuring proper access controls and security measures are in place
  • Administer and maintain critical IT infrastructure components, such as Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP
  • Develop, deploy, and manage Ansible playbooks, shell scripts, and Terraform configurations to automate various processes and tasks 
  • Take charge of the deployment, configuration, maintenance, patching, and upgrading of both Linux and Windows operating systems
  • Oversee the management and maintenance of VMware components, including Esxi hosts, vSphere, and vCenter
  • Maintain on-premise servers, storage, and network devices to ensure optimal performance and reliability
  • Thoroughly document all processes related to creating, building, and deploying resources on both Azure and the on-premise datacentre

ABOUT YOU

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
  • Proven experience in managing Microsoft Azure resources
  • Strong knowledge of networking, including VNet, Load Balancer, NSG, ACLs, and related technologies
  • Familiarity with IT security best practices and experience implementing security measures
  • Proficiency in managing Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP in a corporate environment
  • Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible and infrastructure-as-code (IaC) using Terraform
  • Solid understanding of virtualization technologies, including VMware Esxi, vSphere, and vCenter
  • Ability to manage and troubleshoot both Linux and Windows operating systems
  • Familiarity with CyberArk or similar privileged access management systems are a plus
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to document processes accurately
