Data Analyst

The role

The SSI Team is looking for a Data Analyst to support DLA Piper’s key strategy for Health, Safety and Environmental Sustainability, and our growing need to manage and analyse data from across the firm in order to better understand our operational risk performance, make evidence-based decisions, and stay accountable about our performance to our internal and external stakeholders with all data being verified to protect the firm’s reputation.

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious data analyst wishing to broaden their experience, interested in using data insights to drive operational risk performance.

The Data Analyst will liaise with firmwide data owners (57 international offices), maintain databases, analyse data and summarise trends, draw out business performance insights, help track the firm’s progress against operational risk goals and targets, and prepare data and insights for internal and external audiences. The Data Analyst will also have ample opportunity to get involved in other Operational Risk projects.

The ideal candidate is passionate about leveraging data and data management tools to drive business strategy, and is effective in communicating insights and recommendations across diverse audiences.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Liaising and maintaining relationships with data owners across the business functions and international offices
• Collecting, maintaining and analysing quantitative and qualitative data for internal and external reporting and communications, using Excel, cloud-based platforms and analytical tools including Power BI
• Supporting effective data management and strategic decision-making by building and maintaining databases, developing data management protocols, creating dashboards, and staying abreast of new tools and innovations in data management and analysis
• Preparing data insights for a diverse set of internal and external stakeholders via written reports and Power Point presentations
• Supporting relevant Operational Risk/SSI projects
• Conducting research into data management best practices and staying abreast of latest developments and thought leadership

ABOUT YOU

• Experience dealing with large volumes of quantitative data and qualitative information, as well as with analysing this data and drawing easy-to-understand insights from it
• Highly detail-oriented, able to spot and correct data errors
• Creative problem solver excited by possibility of innovation
• Experience working with diverse teams and stakeholders and adapting communication style as needed
• Advanced skills MS suite of programs
• Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies
