The Legal Technology Specialist role represents an exciting opportunity to reinvent the relationship between IT and the wider business. This role will be absolutely pivotal in helping shift the perception of the IT function from being one of a reactive ‘break fix’ service to that of a specialist partner that understands the business, its people and its processes. A department that coaches, supports and listens to the business and translates its IT needs into customer-focussed projects that deliver tangible benefits. The goal of this, and our stated mission statement as a department, is to maximise productivity across the whole business through technology.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
You will be joining a technology efficient team and coming with a background in IT you will become the go-to person to assist our lawyers in using technology to work in the most effective way to improve services to our clients. Starting your relationships with our staff from commencement you will perform desk side coaching to ensure our new starters are proficient as quickly as possible in our programs. Assisting staff working within our offices and across secondment roles you will bring awareness of the different technologies and tools available to mobile working. Establishing relationships with staff and reporting lawyers’ IT interests and concerns back into your line manager and Head of IT at monthly and quarterly intervals, you will become the central source of communication around IT. You will also have a hand in high profile incidents and performing basic site management of IT equipment when required.
