We do this is by organising Responsible Business (RB) initiatives such as encouraging our lawyers to do pro bono work, which supports access to justice and the rule of law, fundraising, and community engagement. 

With an ever-increasing commitment to ESG and pro bono we have identified a further need for a “Responsible Business Coordinator” in Italy.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

PRO BONO 

  • Assist the European Pro Bono team to promote a pro bono culture in Italy, identify opportunities for pro bono projects and help allocate, implement, and coordinate them.  
  • Perform all administrative tasks for pro bono matter opening and follow up. 
  • Maintain a database collecting and monitoring information relating to pro bono activities. 
  • Build relationships with local organizations to generate a pipeline of pro bono matters.

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT 

  • Devise new community engagement initiatives in collaboration with the Italian leadership and manage them including producing plans, tracking, internal and external communications, and reporting and measurement.
  • Manage the charitable giving activities by organizing fundraising.
  • Run existing and set up new editions of Know Your Rights.

ESG 

  • Set up and manage communication with the Italian leadership on ESG and support the Partner responsible with ESG on any engagements, communications, activities, and strategy.  

COMMUNICATION 

  • Prepare and deliver regular communications to promote RB activities. 
  • Write articles or other appropriate material to promote the firm’s RB programmes internally and externally. 
  • Draft submissions for awards. 
  • Prepare visuals, slides, brochures, videos, and other comms materials as required.

ABOUT YOU

  • Demonstrated commitment to ESG, responsible business, pro bono and social justice.
  • An effective advocate and excellent communication and written skills in English and Italian. 
  • Excellent project management skills. 
  • Flexible worker with an ability to respond quickly to new situations, change direction and work flexibly around others and work autonomously. 
  • Personal maturity. Achieves satisfaction by empowering others rather than through personal recognition, multi-cultural awareness, and sensitivity.

LOCATION

This position will be based at DLA Piper offices in Milan or Rome.
