I was drawn to DLA Piper’s global presence, with offices in more than 40 countries across multiple continents. I am grateful for the opportunity to work on cross-border matters and collaborate with colleagues from jurisdictions across the globe. I am also proud to be a part of a diverse workplace where I can interact with many of my colleagues from different backgrounds, experiences and cultures. It has definitely broadened my horizons and helped me to better understand varied perspectives. 

The beauty of working at DLA Piper is the opportunity to meet and work with colleagues from different offices and backgrounds. Through the recent Lawyer Career Academy Programme held in Shanghai in September 2024, I have forged friendships with peers in the other Asia offices such as Hong Kong, Shanghai, Beijing and Thailand. I have also worked closely with colleagues in DLA Piper's offices in the Americas, Europe and Asia-Pacific. 

Working at DLA Piper has definitely allowed me to fast-track my growth as a lawyer in terms of both soft skills and hard skills.

As a junior, I have been encouraged to take ownership of matters instead of simply 'churning' out work. This means learning how to understand, meet and even anticipate our clients' needs. There is never a dull moment with the fascinating matters that we deal with on a regular basis.
