Why did you choose to work at DLA Piper?

I wanted to gain experience in an international law firm. In my previous role, I worked in the legal department of an international pharmaceutical company. This introduced me to global business, however I believed it was crucial to expand my knowledge to include international law firms. I had read about DLA Piper's IPT team and it seemed like the perfect place to advance my career. In 2023, secured a summer internship after participating in the Polish national new technologies law competition. This opportunity evolved into a traineeship, and after graduating, I joined the firm as a lawyer.

Is there anything you would like to highlight about your experiences at DLA Piper?

I've been given exceptional support and numerous opportunities to kick-start my career as a lawyer. My manager's consistently given me chances to prove myself, quickly entrusting me with more important and demanding tasks. This has enabled continuous improvement and personal growth, making me feel that I'm always advancing and bettering myself. My team's encouragement and the challenging assignments I've received has helped me build knowledge, skills and confidence in my field.

Do you have any advice for students aspiring to pursue a career in law?

It's crucial to make bold decisions in your career. I believe it's beneficial to gain diverse experiences across various fields of law and within different environments. My previous roles in small Polish law firms, Polish intellectual property boutiques, and an international pharmaceutical company have inspired me and shaped my vision for my future career. These varied experiences have been invaluable, providing me with a broad perspective and a deeper understanding of the legal profession. They were particularly helpful when I finally joined DLA Piper, as they helped me understand the kind of lawyer I aspire to be and the path I want to follow.
