Why did you choose to work at DLA Piper?

DLA Piper feels like home to me. My connection with the firm goes back a long way. I began with the business course in 2023, then continued as an intern and a working student before starting as a Junior Associate in 2025. The people at DLA Piper are incredibly down-to-earth and supportive, creating a welcoming and collaborative environment. This sense of community, and the opportunities for growth and learning, made it an easy choice for me to build my career here. Additionally, I was drawn by the international aspect of DLA Piper. Collaborating with colleagues from different countries is a daily occurrence. In my short time as a Junior Associate, I have already visited our office in Madrid, which has made the global connections within DLA Piper feel even more tangible and exciting.

What have you learned from your experiences at DLA Piper?

DLA Piper's commitment to professional development has been instrumental in my growth. The open-door culture here ensures that there is always room for questions and continuous learning. This supportive environment has allowed me to seek guidance and feedback freely, enhancing my skills and confidence. Collaborating with diverse teams has provided me with valuable insights into different legal systems and cultural perspectives making me a more versatile lawyer.

Do you have any advice for students aspiring to pursue a career in law?

Broaden your horizons. In the early years of your career, it's essential to explore different areas of law to find what truly excites you. The best way to discover your passion is by trying out various fields and gaining diverse experiences. The journey to a legal career can be tough, so resilience is key. You'll face challenges and setbacks, but this is only natural. Be confident in your abilities and don't fear making mistakes. Mistakes are valuable learning opportunities that will help you grow and improve. Finally, as a lawyer you are held to certain standards, so it is important to maintain high ethical standards and integrity throughout your career.
