In our Marketing & Business Development team, we work together with our lawyers to explore new opportunities and promote DLA Piper externally. From designing client programmes to building pitches, no two days are the same for this team.
The Marketing & Business Development team is at the heart of the DLA Piper business. From pitching for top-class legal work to helping win multiple awards every year; creating global campaigns to working on internal multi-media communications; managing events across our international locations to playing a part in our responsible business programmes, no two days are the same.
It’s not just the work that’s varied, but where you work from can be too. We have an active programme of international secondments that has enabled colleagues from other offices to experience working in Hong Kong, Dubai, Brussels, London, Warsaw, Amsterdam, Cologne, Milan, Madrid and Lisbon. The list grows daily in line with our marketers’ ambitions.
WIN is our award-winning programme for in-house lawyers, representing an evolving series of events, tools and forums which address the technical, commercial and personal aspects of working in-house. By listening to our clients and identifying the key legal and commercial issues they face on a day-to-day basis, we aim to tailor our services to meet their changing needs and priorities.
Since its inception in 2010, WIN has been recognised with a series of Awards including FT Innovative Lawyers (2013), Legal Week Innovation (2017) and Managing Partners’ Forum (2018). Feedback from the in-house community drives the agenda and the programme continues to double in size year-on-year.

“I completed a two-week work experience placement with DLA Piper, which made me really keen to join.
As a team, we manage over 300 events a year. And so it’s really important that we all support each other as much as possible. With so many offices in different countries, and so many departments and roles, there’s always the opportunity to progress and experience new things. This is appealing to me as I’m at the beginning of my career.”

“ I started here as a pitch assistant in business development and have since progressed to a marketing role, where I coordinate the work of a team of administrators.
Being able to support not only the marketers but also HR, Finance and other service areas allows me to see how different departments work and understand the business better. Working in an international environment is really important to me. Being a brand ambassador allowed me to get involved in our rebranding and have a closer look at all the changes and processes.”

“I developed my expertise at DLA Piper, moving into a new role with greater responsibility. It never gets boring and you don’t know what might come up during the day.
I’m also building my specialist knowledge by working with our Real Estate and Finance, Projects & Restructuring practice groups. What attracted me the most was how international we are.”
