The DLA Piper team operates globally across more than 40 counties, but we're still locally connected. That's because trusting and collaborative relationships with our clients and each other are at the heart of our success. Giving you the platform to progress in a culture where you are empowered to make a meaningful impact.

With almost 800 fee earners across our international offices, Finance, Projects and Restructuring (FPR) is one of the driving forces of the DLA Piper global practice, providing market-leading insight and advice and representing leading investment and commercial financial institutions, public and private companies and government entities.

A new and exciting opportunity has become available for a high performing Senior Associate to work in the national Environment, Planning, Native Title and Cultural heritage practice supporting the East Coast of Australia.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Our team provides clients with a comprehensive legal service that covers the entire life cycle of a matter. We work with clients across key industry sectors, including, energy and natural resources, real estate, technology and infrastructure. Our global reach delivers opportunities around the world, as well as access to international expertise.

In this position, you will be a valued contributor of a small, close-knit team providing native title, environmental and planning support to various groups in all our East Coast offices (Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane). You will also be responsible for supporting clients who you will assist by negotiating native title and Aboriginal heritage agreements, obtaining necessary tenure approvals and advising on regulatory compliance.

ABOUT YOU

We know talent is more than what's written on paper. It's the energy you bring, the way you work with your team. The ideas you share and the excitement you bring to each new engagement.

To be successful in this position you will have a strong client focus as well as excellent legal, analytical and interpersonal skills. You will be well organized and have the ability to manage your own workload and to take direction from more senior team members. You will ideally be a senior associate or special counsel with experience or a keen interest in native title, cultural heritage and environmental and planning regulatory regimes. You will be based in either Melbourne, Sydney or Brisbane but have a willingness to travel and provide on the ground support on projects across Australia. Your strong communication skills will enable you to maintain high-quality relationships with our client base. You will be a team player who is results focused and striving to succeed.

You will receive first class on the job support and training from our Senior Solicitors and Partners and work closely with Partner Rhys Davies . You will also have access to our DLA Piper Career Academies, an award-winning international development forum designed to cultivate high performance and support your career goals.

If you're a high performing project finance lawyer ready to take the next step in your career, we want to hear from you.
