The role


As DLA Piper goes through unprecedented change, growth and evolution, it is essential that we have an international approach to developing the skills and capabilities required of our employees and partners both now and in the future. The Digital Learning Consultant role is central to supporting the L&D team to achieve this goal.

The purpose of the role is to implement the DLA Piper Academy digital strategy which is designed to enable our employees to acquire the skills and capabilities to be successful. The L&D Manager Digital Learning is responsible for curating and developing digital learning content, as well as campaigns to drive a learning culture across the firm.


Digital Learning:

  • Work with L&D managers to translate business needs into compelling, high impact digital learning experiences
  • Work closely with colleagues within Talent Development, wider HR community and other learning providers to identify and influence opportunities to digitalise learning 
  • Design, develop, curate and deliver digital learning, either independently or through third party suppliers
  • Act as a centre of digital learning expertise; championing digital learning within the Firm, keeping on top of trends both in terms of new tools and techniques and market intelligence 

DLA Piper Academy:

  • Manage the content on the DLA Piper Academy, ensuring it is relevant and update to date. This will include identifying opportunities to ‘feature’ content, latest additions and annual updates
  • Curate content using appropriate technology for different audiences across the firm
  • Develop digital collateral to drive adoption and utilisation of digital learning

Learning design governance:

  • Embed the DLA Academy’s design toolkit, building on and maintaining the design standards to create consistency of learning experiences
  • Work closely with the L&D team and other learning providers to ensure all new content on the academy is consistent in terms of quality and standards
  • Share best practice across the L&D team and other learning providers to develop a culture of continuous improvement across all learning experiences


  • Designing, developing and embedding high impact digital learning solutions to drive business performance and grow capability in an international organisation
  • Experience in digital resources, technologies and authoring tools
  • Experience in Learner Management Systems (LMS)
  • Project management 
  • Translation of traditional learning and development approaches into a variety of formats culminating in solely digital or blended learning solutions.
