DLA Piper’s Tax practice is growing, and we are looking for an Associate or Senior Associate (ideally with 4 – 7 years’ experience) to join either our Melbourne or Sydney team. This opportunity will see you working within a full service national tax team that is part of a broader global tax practice, which has a strong and growing, Australian market presence. 

In this dynamic position, you will provide integral support to the team on high value tax advisory and transactional work with a focus on international transactions and tax issues, including in relation to M&A work, structuring, investment fund transactions, infrastructure and real estate deals, and corporate restructures.  You will have the opportunity to develop an industry specific focus to deliver a valuable combination of global insight and local knowledge to support DLA Piper’s clients across a broad range of sectors, including the oil and gas, energy, technology, financial services, funds and insurance industries.   

To be successful in this position, you will have a strong background in tax advisory work. You will pride yourself on your technical skills, attention to detail and your consistent delivery of exceptional client service and quality.  You will have a principal focus on income tax/international tax, but if you have had some indirect tax experience there will be opportunities to continue to develop your indirect skills as well. Sound communication and interpersonal skills, coupled with your commercial acumen, will contribute to your success in this position and at DLA Piper.
