An opportunity has become available for an experienced Human Resources Advisor to join our Perth team on a fixed-term contract, working 3 days a week until September 2023 for a parental leave coverage period.

As a valued member of our national Human Resources team, you are invited to learn the true meaning of business partnership in your role as the HR Advisor in our Perth office. Working alongside a team of experienced HR practitioners, you will provide administrative support for all aspects of the employee lifecycle. From recruitment support, induction, employee engagement, you will be making an impact and form relationships across every department at the firm. You will have the opportunity to support and lead projects across all disciplines within the HR function, including Learning & Development and Diversity & Inclusion.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Assist with coordinating the onboarding experience for our new starters across the Perth office, to ensure a positive and consistent introduction to the business
  • Partner with our HR Centres of Excellence (L&D, D&I, Remuneration & Reward, Talent Acquisition) to ensure successful implementation of DLA Piper initiatives across the Perth office
  • Partner with hiring managers in Perth and the national Talent Acquisition team to deliver a rigorous and thoughtful recruitment process, including:

        –  business case development
        –  drafting of role descriptions
        –  scoping of candidates
        –  interviewing with hiring managers
        –  offer management of successful candidates

  • Partner with our Graduate Resourcing team to deliver on campus events and campaigns in line with the national graduate recruitment strategy
  • Provide performance management guidance (coaching, career development, disciplinary issues)
  • Work on strategic national and global HR projects

ABOUT YOU

We are looking for someone who is passionate about HR and ready to build their career in a global law firm. 

To be successful in the role, you will ideally have:

  • At least 2+ years of hands-on generalist Human Resources experience, preferably with a recruitment focus
  • Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Highly self-motivated with customer-service and results orientation
  • Excellent administrative and organizational skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Confidence, professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment
  • High attention to detail
